Hi there Glow Family! It’s Storm!
Thank you so much for subscribing to my newsletter. I really do appreciate you being here.
I launched this blog so that I can send you energetic tips and more! Also to keep you up to date on projects that I’ve been working on and life updates.
Sooooo… Let’s dive right in shall we?!
I know you’ve probably heard of energy vampires. EEEK!
Yes, I have encountered many before and still do until this day. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, I am talking about people who seriously just drain all of your energy.
We don’t want that. We want to make sure that we can protect ourselves from the people throughout your day.
Who can actually be an energy vampire? Family members, certain friends, co-workers, people out and about everyday wherever you might go.
So I am here to help you protect your energy. As a Reiki energy healer, I get this question a lot. But "Storm, How can I really protect my energy?"
Well I am here to spill the tea and give you my 3 BEST TIPS on how to protect your energy that really have helped me in my spiritual and healing journey!
The best part: you can start implementing these tips as of TODAY! Ooooohh Yeah baby!
MY BEST 3 TIPS:
1.) My number one thing is: Setting Boundaries! OOF YEAH. I know this one can be tough especially if we are talking about family here. Don’t be afraid to say “no” to people.
If you allow people to constantly pull at you from all different kinds of direction, you are going to feel burnt out and your energy will be spread thin.
This took me a while to finally grasp this concept. For example: If today is supposed to be your self care day, and your family and friends are all hitting you up and it’s something that can absolutely wait. Then you have the power and right to say “ no.”
Being a “ yes” person can be exhausting when you’re constantly running the hamster wheel of trying to please others. It’s time to take care of you and set these energetic boundaries! You got this!
2.) My second tip would be: DE-CLUTTER. I am talking about Cleaning your Mental and Physical space. I am going to be honest here, October was a really rough month for me. I barely got out of bed, and depression was super heavy. My room was a complete mess, boxes piled up, clothes all over the floor, barely can even see the floor or walk around freely.
Looking at that stuff made it hard to get up in the mornings. So we’re going to talk about how you can have a better space and what I did that helped me get started.Physical space: Start small. Work on your space or room everyday. Even if it is the smallest thing like throwing something away in the trash.
Simple tasks like that will soon enough turn into big tasks, next thing you know you are folding clothes & putting them away. This will help you see that your space as clean therefore help with your mind also not being cluttered. This will help create less stress. Also bonus tip: make your space a sacred one.
Fill it with your love and personality. The more time you make it yours, the more time you will feel more in your body and have more fun. Light some incense and candles, play your favorite music in the background, lay some crystals out on your desk or table. Put an oil diffuser on.
Create a space of colors, smells, and textures that you love! You are now creating a beautiful energetic space.
Social Media Cleanse: Listen as much as I LOVE social media. It can be extremely detrimental to my mental health. I don’t know about you. But with the perfect highlights of people’s lives, playing the comparison game; etc. So this is what I suggest that really works for me.
Turn your social media into a good thing. So that way you won’t feel like every time you log in, you want to get back off right away.
For example: I follow a lot of beautiful and inspirational people on IG and YouTube. I will share some with you. HINDZ on YouTube, I recently discovered him and he has tea talks, gives you spiritual advice and I listen to him in the mornings with my tea in hand.
Also Vex King and Sylvester McNutt III. They are both published authors and I follow them both on IG and bought some of their books.
You don’t have to follow people that are not good for your energy. Simply unfollow. Surround yourself with people that are inspiring to you, lift you up, and help you progress into who you’re meant to be.
Also, set a timer for social media. This will help you stop the endless scrolling and help you focus on being more productive throughout your day.
Make a promise to yourself, that you will spend one hour on social media. Then go take a walk outside and ground yourself in nature. Journal a couple of morning pages, and enjoy the simple things. That will help keep your energy high quality and sustained throughout your day.
3.) My third tip: and this one I use a lot. Everyday actually. One of my favorite tips!
IMAGINE THAT YOU ARE A BEAM OF LIGHT!
Literally. When you’re at work, or are talking to a family member. What I do is send good energy to myself. I take deep breaths and I imagine a beautiful warm light energy started to wash over me, cleansing my aura of any negative energy that is surrounding me at the moment.
Imagine yourself that you are a beam of light, colors are starting to form and that nothing can hurt or drain you.
Trust me I have worked in some toxic environments and dealt with some difficult family members.
While they are talking, also say affirmations to yourself:
“I am safe.”
"The Divine has my back and I am always protected.”
“I am okay in this moment.”
“I got this and I am grounded.”
I say these affirmations in my head and trust me this will help give your energy more power.
Humans have electro-magnetic shields around them, so imagine an energetic bubble or shield!
BONUS TIP:
I would practice this in a safe place by yourself first so that when the time comes to use it, it won’t seem so overwhelming. :)
You got this!
Let me know if you have used any of the practices/tips that I have shared. I would love to hear from you.
Sending you so much love and healing
Love,
Storm <3
